Pregnancy & Postpartum: The Mommy Makeover

Babies, babies, babies! It has been an exciting time at Splendid Skin!

We have welcomed multiple little bundles of joy over the last several months. Juggling babies, careers, and families can be quite the task for a new mom. While life gets hectic, your skincare routine does not have to. We are here to help!

Along with all changes that happen in the body during pregnancy, many changes happen to the skin as well. Many pregnant women suffer from acne, hyperpigmentation, melasma, increased vascularity, and textural changes. Many of our standard treatments used to treat these conditions are not considered safe during pregnancy. Products to avoid during pregnancy include, but are not limited to retinoids, high-dose salicylic acid, hydroquinone, phthalates, and chemical sunscreens. There are safe products to consider using to try to treat these skin changes. Safe skin care products include: Vitamin C, mineral sunscreen, hyaluronic acid, a gentle cleanser, niacinamide, and moisturizer. Here at Splendid Skin, we carry Epionce products which is a botanical-based line that prides itself on the majority of its products being pregnancy safe!

After many months of change, our staff is more than ready to get back to looking and feeling like themselves again, so it’s time for some mommy makeovers! Each of our team members have their own concerns they wish to address, these include:

  • For Hyperpigmentation: Intense pulse laser (IPL) is a safe and effective way to improve sun damage and hyperpigmentation postpartum. However, if melasma is the primary concern, the enlighten mask is the way to go!
  • For Fine Lines: Neurotoxins (botox, dysport, and xeomin) are an excellent way to improve fine lines and improve skin texture. They also can be used to treat acne and improve headaches.
  • For Volume Loss: We offer a wide variety of fillers to help rejuvenate the face and replace volume loss related to aging.
  • For Skin Texture: Microneedling is among one our staff’s favorite treatments! It helps to address pore size, texture, scarring, pigment, and fine lines. Chemical peels also help to exfoliate the skin. These treatments are the perfect way to get that glowing skin back!
  • For Spider Veins: We offer laser vein treatments to help target spider veins that may have surfaced during pregnancy.
  • For Acne: We offer medical-grade skin care to help control your acne. We also provide laser genesis laser facials to help improve rosacea and suppress the acne causing bacteria on the skin.

Not sure what is right for you? Let us help! We offer complimentary consultations. We will work with you through your postpartum journey to ensure you get the results you desire, while also ensuring safe treatments if you are breastfeeding.
