Laser Hair Removal

Smooth Hairless Skin

Laser hair removal can eliminate unwanted hair on various areas of the body. Laser hair removal is a non-invasive treatment that utilizes concentrated beams of light & heat to target and damage hair follicles, ultimately inhibiting their ability to grow new hair.

Modern laser technology allows treatments to be performed quickly and comfortably, with many patients describing the sensation as mild and tolerable. Additionally sessions can often be completed in just a few minutes. Today’s advanced systems are designed to safely treat a wide range of skin tones, making laser hair removal an option for many different skin types. Laser hair removal can offer a long-lasting solution to unwanted hair, providing smooth and virtually hairless skin!

Forever Bare BBL: Fast & Comfortable Hair Removal

Forever Bare BBL™: At Splendid Skin, we offer Forever Bare BBL™ by Sciton, an advanced hair removal technology that uses gentle pulses of light energy to treat multiple hair follicles simultaneously. Unlike traditional laser hair removal that treats one spot at a time, Forever Bare BBL™ delivers rapid, continuous energy through a sapphire cooling tip, making treatments faster, more comfortable, and ideal for larger areas. With a series of treatments, patients can enjoy smoother skin and long-lasting reduction in unwanted hair.

Cutera Laser Hair Removal For Darker Skin

Cutera’s 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser hair removal: Cutera LHR is an advanced treatment designed to safely and effectively reduce unwanted hair across a wide range of skin tones. This wavelength penetrates deeper into the skin to target the hair follicle while minimizing risk to the surrounding tissue, making it especially well-suited for treating darker skin types. The system also incorporates integrated cooling to keep the skin comfortable during treatment, allowing sessions to be performed quickly and with minimal discomfort. With a series of treatments timed to the hair growth cycle, Cutera’s 1064 laser can provide long-lasting hair reduction and smoother skin.

Who's a Good Candidate for Laser Hair Removal?

Laser hair removal works best on brown and black hair, and modern systems like ours are designed to safely treat a wide range of skin tones—our Cutera 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser in particular is well suited for darker skin. Good candidates are typically not pregnant or nursing, have not had recent significant sun exposure or a tan on the treatment area, and are looking for a longer-term reduction in hair rather than a one-time fix, since laser hair removal works in a series of sessions timed to the hair growth cycle. We treat a wide range of areas, including the face, underarms, bikini line, legs, arms, back, and chest. Every treatment plan starts with a consultation with our team so we can recommend the right technology and session schedule for your skin and goals.

Preparing for Your Laser Hair Removal Appointment

To get the most out of each session, shave the treatment area about 24 hours before your appointment. Between sessions, avoid waxing, plucking, or using depilatory creams—laser hair removal targets the hair follicle beneath the skin, so the hair needs to stay in place until it’s treated. Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and self-tanner for at least two weeks before treatment, and skip photosensitizing skincare products like retinoids in the days leading up to your appointment. Our licensed providers will walk you through any additional prep specific to your treatment area during your consultation, and can answer questions about what to expect afterward.

Frequently Asked Questions

Laser hair removal employs laser devices that emit highly concentrated light beams that selectively target melanin, the pigment in hair follicles, without affecting the surrounding skin. The laser energy is absorbed by the melanin in the hair follicle, converting into heat. This heat damages the follicle, inhibiting its ability to produce new hair. The treatment is most effective on brown or black hair, and multiple sessions are required to achieve optimal results.

Laser Hair Removal is offered in sessions of 6 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks a part. Laser Hair Removal works best in a hair’s Anagen Phase (Growth phase). It is important to note that not all  hair is in the Anagen phase simultaneously, and hair follicles go through different phases independently. This is why multiple sessions of laser hair removal are required. Whilel we do offer packages of 6 treatments, additional treatments may be required to get maximum hair removal.

No, laser hair removal works best on variations of brown & black hair.
